Although the name 'Davies and Jones Optometrists' is relatively new, the practice is certainly well established in the town of Porth.
In the 1940s, local ophthalmic optician Eric Davies opened his practice in Hannah Street, and in subsequent years , under the direction of his sons Lionel and David the business expanded with other outlets being opened in the locality. In 1997, Ian Jones joined the group as manager of the Porth practice and in 2003 became a full partner in the business.
It is certainly true to say that their patients have received a continuity of care, and the current partners: Lionel and Ian, view themselves as long standing residents of Hannah Street, having moved only once in sixty or so years, and that was just a few yards from the opposite side of the street.
The practice at Porth has been recently refurbished and offers patients the best possible professional eye care in comfortable modern surroundings.
