benefit from investment funding
BUSINESSES can now benefit from
additional support through the South East Wales Local Investment Fund. The
fund is being delivered locally by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council's Business Support
Unit and has already helped several local firms to buy the equipment and services
they needed to secure their success. Thanks to additional Welsh Assembly Government
and European Regional Development financial support, the Local Investment Fund
now offers an increased level of assistance - up to 40% - to help businesses start-up
or grow. The Local Investment Fund is open to businesses in RCT that employ
less than 250 staff and operate within the business-to- business or tourism arena.
Grants of up to £5,000 are available. It can help them invest in equipment,
technology, building works or even marketing materials to assist them as they
start-up or grow. The Local Investment Fund has already helped to create 40
jobs and safeguard some 250 others across South East Wales. Coun Paul Cannon,
Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration and Housing, said: "I hope the firms
that have already been successful in securing assistance via the fund serve as
an inspiration for others. "This is just one part of the unit's job -
it is working in many ways to assist the local economy, including via the Business
Club." For more information, contact the unit on 01443 495169 or e-mail
